Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SGAI.sg ('SGAI', 'we', 'us'), the operator of Betterly and based in Singapore, collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you use Betterly (betterly.sg). We handle personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ('PDPA'). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Personal data we collect
Depending on how you use Betterly, we may collect:
- Account & profile: name, email, phone, display name, avatar, password (hashed by our auth provider), and authentication identifiers (e.g. Google sign-in).
- Transactions: events you view, reserve, buy, organize, promote, or sponsor; order and ticket details; and attendee details you provide.
- Payment & payout: handled by Stripe. We receive limited transaction metadata and payout status; we do not store full card numbers. For payouts, Stripe collects identity/KYC information directly.
- Usage & device: IP address, browser/device info, pages viewed, and referral codes (a first-party cookie records an affiliate referral).
- Communications: messages and support requests you send us.
2. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- provide the Platform — accounts, listings, ticketing, check-in, and payouts;
- process payments and facilitate splits between SGAI, organizers, affiliates, and Betterly Living;
- send transactional messages (confirmations, receipts, payout and account notices);
- prevent fraud, abuse, and oversell, and keep the Platform secure;
- respond to enquiries and provide support; and
- improve the Platform and, where you have consented, send updates about events.
3. Consent and its withdrawal
We collect, use, and disclose personal data with your consent (including deemed consent under the PDPA where you voluntarily provide data for an evident purpose), or as otherwise permitted by law. You may withdraw consent for non-essential processing (e.g. marketing) at any time by contacting us; note that withdrawing consent needed to operate the service may mean we can no longer provide it.
4. Who we share data with
We share personal data only as needed to run the Platform, with service providers acting on our behalf and bound to protect it:
- Stripe — payments, payouts, and identity verification;
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage;
- Vercel — application hosting;
- Mapbox — map display for venues;
- Mailgun — transactional email delivery;
- Google — optional sign-in.
5. Sharing with Organizers
When you reserve or buy a ticket, the Organizer of that Event receives the attendee details needed to run the Event (e.g. name, email, ticket type). Organizers must handle this data in line with the PDPA and may only use it for that Event. Affiliates do not receive your identity or contact details — only aggregated commission information.
6. International transfers
Some service providers process data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, including contractual safeguards with our providers.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate checkout, and a first-party cookie ('bf_ref') to attribute an affiliate referral for up to 30 days. You can control cookies in your browser, but disabling necessary cookies may break sign-in and checkout.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for the period required to meet legal, accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Subject to the PDPA, you may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, and ask about how it has been used or disclosed. To exercise these rights, or to raise a concern, contact our Data Protection Officer at hello@betterly.sg. We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case as required by the PDPA.
11. Children
The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes and contact
