Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how refunds work on Betterly (betterly.sg), operated by SGAI.sg. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Because Betterly is a marketplace, each Organizer sets the refund policy for their own Event, within the limits below and applicable law.

1. Overview

When you buy a ticket, you are entering into a contract with the Organizer of that Event. SGAI facilitates payment and refunds through Stripe but is not the Organizer of third-party Events. The Organizer's stated policy for an Event governs, except where this Policy or the law provides otherwise.

2. Organizer-set policies

Organizers may offer refundable tickets, partial refunds, exchanges, or a strict no-refund policy. The policy that applies to your purchase is the one shown on the Event at the time of purchase. If no policy is shown, the default rule below applies.

3. Default rule

Unless the Organizer states otherwise, tickets are non-refundable once purchased, except where the Event is cancelled or materially changed (see below), or where a refund is required by law.

4. Event cancellation or material change

If an Organizer cancels an Event, or materially changes its date, time, or location such that you can no longer reasonably attend, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price. We will facilitate the refund to your original payment method once the Organizer authorizes it or as required.

5. How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank, it may take several business days to appear. When a refund is issued, the corresponding organizer, affiliate, and host-network payouts for that order are reversed accordingly.

6. Processing fees

Payment-processing fees charged by Stripe may be non-refundable. Where permitted, a refund may therefore exclude non-refundable processing fees. Any such deduction will be made clear at the time of refund.

7. Free RSVPs

Free reservations involve no payment, so there is nothing to refund. You may cancel a free RSVP at any time to free your spot for others.

8. Sponsor slots

Payments for sponsor slots are generally non-refundable, except where the Event is cancelled, in which case the sponsor payment (less any non-refundable processing fees) is refunded.

9. Chargebacks and disputes

Please contact us at hello@betterly.sg before initiating a card chargeback — most issues can be resolved faster directly. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in account suspension. Where a dispute is raised with your card issuer, the related payouts may be reversed pending the outcome.
